Bilingual Teacher Assistant (Grade: Pre‑K)

Assist in conducting intensive learning experiences for students, support certified teachers, and contribute to a positive classroom environment.
Responsibilities- Assist in conducting intensive learning experiences for students in the assigned area and relieve certified teacher of various tasks that are primarily non‑instructional in nature.
- Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities.
- Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher.
- Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow‑up learning activities.
- Help students with their daily work and in finding activities appropriate for their homework.
- Review class activities and daily homework.
- Supervise class breakfast and lunch activities.
- Communicate with parents to provide updates on the student's progress, homework, and social behavior.
- Distribute informative letters to parents regarding their child's progress.
- Assist in filing and organizing materials for record retention and distribution.
- Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Ensure regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
- Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following:
Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment. - Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification.
- One year of experience working with children.
- Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups.
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Effective communication skills both in oral and written form.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties on site are essential for all campus-based personnel.

SalaryMinimum: $28,342.00;
Median: $35,424.00.
