Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated LOTE Italian Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver a high-quality LOTE Italian Education program that engages students, promotes physical activity, and encourages the use of Italian Language.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement a vibrant and developmentally appropriate Italian program aligned with the Victorian Curriculum (Languages – Italian).
- Use the MACS Vision for Instruction to ensure explicit teaching, high expectations, and structured learning sequences. Foster meaningful engagement through the MACS Vision for Engagement, ensuring learning is active, collaborative and culturally responsive. Integrate language, culture, and multimodal learning experiences that support EAL learners and a multicultural school community.
- Use assessment data and digital tools to track growth and differentiate instruction.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the whole‑school Languages program.
- Employ positive behaviour management strategies that promote active participation and curiosity in language learning.
- A growth mindset and commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary language‑teaching pedagogy.
- Capacity to support learners with English as an additional language.
- Ability to design engaging lessons that build confidence and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Experience developing or enhancing a whole‑school Italian program.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and language‑learning technologies.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of all children.
- Current VIT registration.
- Current accreditation to teach in a Catholic School or a willingness to gain Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
