Department Summary

The School of Human Services at UNT Dallas offers three undergraduate degree programs.

The Bachelor's degree in Public Health.

The Bachelor's degree in Human Services Management, and Leadership (HSML)

The Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies (CDFS)

These programs prepare students for work in the public health, nonprofit leadership and social service sectors. We offer both professional and academic certificates.

Position Overview

The number of available positions depends on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application will only be reviewed once all required documents are submitted.

Responsibilities include:

  • Course Planning & Instruction:
    Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction for undergraduate Public Health courses, including but not limited to:
  • Introduction to Public Health
  • Program Planning and Evaluation
  • Health Promotion
  • Health Policy
  • Epidemiology
  • Assessment:
    Design and evaluate teaching objectives and student learning outcomes.
  • Part-Time Faculty Duties:
    Fulfill divisional responsibilities, including holding office hours and participating in professional activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Public Health with outstanding experience in teaching Public Health courses, OR Master's degree in another health professions field with at least 18 graduate hours in Public Health
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in online/hybrid instruction.
  • Proven teaching excellence in undergraduate instruction.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Data analysis:
    Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret health data
  • Research methodology:
    Designing and conducting public health studies
  • Program evaluation:
    Assessing effectiveness of public health interventions
  • Health communication:
    Effectively conveying health information to diverse audiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH, PhD) with significant outstanding teaching experience.
  • Terminal degree in the specific discipline or a closely related discipline.
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post‑secondary institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
  • Experience teaching and developing online courses in the Canvas Learning Management System (Canvas).
