Join to apply for the Senior Consultant – Logistics Automation Implementation role at Miebach

Overview

Miebach Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant specialized in Logistics Automation Implementation to lead the on-site execution of warehouse automation and material handling projects. You will serve as a critical bridge between our engineering design teams, automation vendors, and client operations — ensuring seamless delivery, integration, and go-live of systems such as ASRS, AGV, robotic palletizers, conveyors, and control systems.

You will take ownership of project phases from commissioning and testing through ramp-up and stabilization, providing leadership, technical problem-solving, and hands-on support throughout implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution and start-up of automation systems including ASRS, AGV fleets, conveyor lines, and robotics.
  • Coordinate commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and issue resolution across all implementation phases.
  • Supervise technical integration with warehouse IT systems (WMS/WCS) and control interfaces.
  • Provide on-site operational support during go-live including troubleshooting, shift coverage, and SOP validation.
  • Act as primary point of contact for automation vendors, system integrators, and client engineering teams.
  • Validate design intent and technical compliance through installation and ramp-up.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional client teams to ensure operational readiness and knowledge transfer.
  • Develop and deliver user and maintenance training for automated systems.
  • Support creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance plans, and emergency response protocols.
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement for future automation rollouts.
  • Maintain solid understanding of IT integration (WMS/WCS/PLC/MES) and stay current with automation technologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in automation implementation for logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with ASRS, AGV, shuttle systems, robotic arms, and material flow control.
  • Strong project management and supplier coordination capabilities.
  • Hands-on commissioning and testing experience is essential.
  • Solid understanding of IT integration (WMS/WCS/PLC/MES).
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills (Spanish/French) are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% for implementation and ramp-up phases.
