AG&E is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our structural engineering team and contribute to complex, high-profile projects in commercial, institutional, mission critical, educational, aviation, and healthcare sectors. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with senior engineers, interface directly with clients, and work on challenging and rewarding designs.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform structural analysis and design through hand calculations and computer modeling.
  • Prepare project materials, specifications, and structural configurations.
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines to deliver well-integrated designs.
  • Support construction contract administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site observations.
  • Mentor and review work of other engineers and technical staff.
  • Contribute to internal technical training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Engage in client meetings and industry networking events.
What We’re Looking For
  • BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) from an ABET-accredited program; MS preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience (may be reduced with MS or SE license).
  • Progress toward a Professional Engineer (PE) license (structural designation).
  • Proficiency in Bentley RAM, Tekla Structural Designer, and Autodesk Revit preferred.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and structural materials (concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, and wood).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
