Our Fortune 100 telecom client is hiring an RF Engineer to join their Enterprise Business Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for triaging, maintaining, and optimizing RF networks and systems to ensure the best possible coverage, capacity, and performance for our organization. Your primary objective will be to ensure RF network availability, stability, and performance for both our existing infrastructure and future expansions.
Responsibilities- Deploy, and optimize RF networks (LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi) to ensure optimal coverage, capacity, and interference management across LAN, WLAN, and WAN.
- Configure and install RF network equipment (base stations, small cells, antennas, eNodeBs, gNBs, etc.) and manage system upgrades (firmware, patches, security).
- Monitor and analyze network performance using RF tools (e.g., TEMS, Net Scout, Wireshark), identifying and resolving issues such as coverage gaps, interference, and signal degradation.
- Utilize RF optimization tools for troubleshooting and performance analysis, while collaborating with vendors (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei) to address technical issues.
- Continuously monitor RF network performance metrics (e.g., SINR, RSRP, RSRQ, throughput) using RF tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Collaborate with OEM vendors (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson) and other technical teams to resolve network performance or hardware issues and ensure efficient deployments.
- Provide 24x7 support when necessary to address network performance issues or outages.
- 4-7 years of professional experience in an RF Engineering role, with a deep understanding of wireless communication technologies and RF network optimization techniques.
- Experience with LTE, 5G , and Wi-Fi RF planning, design, and optimization. Understanding of key RF metrics such as SINR, SNR, throughput, and link budget.
- Proficient in using RF network monitoring, diagnostic, and optimization tools like TEMS, Net Scout, Wireshark, and others.
- Familiarity with RF planning tools and principles, along with a working knowledge of network protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and SNMP.
- Proven Experience with Wireless Network Equipment:
Hands-on experience with OEMs such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, ZTE, and Cisco, as well as RF hardware components like antennas, base stations, and small cells. - Ability to use ticketing tools such as Service Now, One Console, and Axiom.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar wireless certifications (e.g., CWNP) are a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities using network diagnostic tools, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
