Position OverviewPCB Design Engineer – On‑site in Irving, TX. Pay range: $45–$55 per hour (C2C).
Responsibilities- Create, maintain & manage electronic component library databases used in printed circuit board (PCB) design.
- Prepare schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models per IPC standards using company checklists.
- Implement and enforce library processes, naming conventions, and revision controls.
- Ensure libraries are accurate, up‑to‑date, and compatible with design tools and manufacturing processes.
- Review and verify component libraries, identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies.
- Execute schedules for part creation requests for the electronics library.
- Resolve library issues as they arise.
- Design complex IC packages such as BGA, CSP, WLCSP, etc.
- Administer CAD libraries and integrate them with PLM/PDM systems.
- Apply DFA, DFM, and DFT practices.
- Collaborate closely with schematic and PCB designers.
- Familiarity with mechanical drawings.
- Mentor designers and ensure consistent use of libraries across the company.
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes, industry standards and regulations (IPC, RoHS, JEDEC, REACH, UL).
- Knowledge of various soldering processes – e.g., wave soldering, SMT reflow soldering.
- Experience with IEEE standards for schematic symbol creation and PCB library creation as per IPC SM‑7351B.
- Work with design, procurement, and manufacturing engineers to ensure compliance with DFA, DFM, and DFT practices.
- 7 years in PCB library management or PCB design using Altium and Cadence.
- Strong background in electronics, component data management, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.
- High‑speed, RF, or industry‑specific PCB design knowledge in Altium and Cadence.
- Integration experience with supplier data platforms (Octopart, Silicon Expert).
- Exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on priorities.
- Staying current with new components and technologies.
- Ability to analyze and solve technical issues with minimal supervision.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
On‑site position in Irving, TX. Candidates must be able to commute to the location using personal transportation.
