At Jacobs, we are committed to turning innovative ideas into realities that transform the world for good. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Mechanical Engineer in our West Central geography to work with municipal clients on water and wastewater projects.
Base pay range$95,200.00/yr - $/yr
ResponsibilitiesDesign water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities/processes, conveyance systems, and perform technical writing and construction drawing/specification production. Conduct pipe sizing calculations, select pump types, design primary, secondary, tertiary, and solids treatment systems, and create rotating equipment layouts for centrifugal pumps, blowers, and other process equipment. Perform piping system and valve design, appurtenance selection, chemical system integration, and hydraulic studies for in‑plant process piping.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
- At least 8 years of experience in water/wastewater process mechanical engineering for municipal or industrial clients
- Detailed mechanical design experience for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems
- Experience developing P&’s in coordination with process control engineers
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
- Hydraulic modeling experience
- Design experience with piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for water and wastewater treatment plant process piping (ductile iron, steel, PVC, HDPE, copper, etc.)
- Design implementation of rotating equipment and process treatment equipment
- Experience developing plans and specifications
- Experience with Design‑Build, CMAR/CM‑GC, and/or EPC projects
- Construction support services for water and wastewater projects or related industries
