• The Product Development of new TE cooler‑based systems which are conceived, proposed, and promoted in support of Coherent strategic technical objectives is done on schedule and on budget.
• Evolutionary and revolutionary products and processes are led and managed to support customer requirements and Coherent strategic technical and sales objectives.
• Program management of customer funded development projects, including leading and organizing cross‑functional teams to support deliverables and schedules.
• Perform product costing analysis.
• Internal modeling/design capabilities are clearly understood, including the bounds and limitations of use. Includes the ability to model and design thermoelectric modules using both internal custom software and ANSYS Mechanical (steady‑state and transient operation).
• Create and analyze new, complex heat exchanger product design concepts that provide innovative design solutions.
• Conceive and research new manufacturing processes and materials as alternatives to standard machining of aluminum and copper.
• Develop and utilize application tools (spreadsheets, MathCAD, Ice Pak, ANSYS, etc.) to create value and optimized solutions.
• Model, design, and optimize thermoelectric systems (cold plates/TEC/heat‑sink sub‑assemblies) with pertinent CFD packages (Fluent, Qfin).
• Support internal development programs that integrate advanced data analytics, AI, and machine learning into CTS proprietary TE design software, including creating custom Python code.
• Effectively utilize Phase Gate and QRB processes to transition new products and processes into engineering and manufacturing organizations.
• Understand, actively review, and propose improvements to manufacturing design guidelines.
• Represent the work group in special problem‑solving sessions addressing complex problems.
• Provide on‑floor manufacturing support of assigned system product builds as needed.
• Develop test protocols for TE systems to support qualification, reliability, and performance testing.
• Perform and oversee hands‑on experiments and performance testing in a laboratory environment to support assigned programs.
• Interact with CTS global Vietnam manufacturing team to transition projects to manufacturing, including participation in weekly and evening conference calls with the CTS Vietnam production and R&D teams as needed.
• Travel to customer sites and Coherent overseas factories to support program and organizational goals.
• Lead R&D initiatives as needed in support of new products and processes.

• Portray a positive image of Coherent to co‑workers, external customers, and the public.
• Support externally and internally funded research and/or development program proposals through management and successful completion of identified tasks and assigned proposal sections.
• Serve as a lead technical interface for external customers.
• Act as a primary design consultant for new product designs or for a particular aspect of technology important to Coherent.
• Apply the appropriate use of TE technology, both at the TE cooler level and at the System level, to product development projects.
• Analyze Warranty or Quality Returns using 8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, and/or other quality tools to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
• Demonstrate a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, competency, and quality.
• Act as a role model for Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction, and Business Results.
• Contribute program status and technology update presentations for internal technical communities (Technology Ops Reviews and Engineering Brown Bag lunches).
