Shield AI’s mission is to protect service members and civilians with intelligent systems. The Hivemind Solutions Test Department turns this mission into reality‑bringing Shield AI’s intelligent autonomy to life across a range of aircraft and robotic platforms, including VBAT and next‑generation UAS.

We’re seeking a Senior Integration & Test Engineer to support and execute system‑level integration and testing activities for Shield AI’s Hivemind autonomy systems across simulation, HIL, VIL, and flight environments. In this role, you will contribute to the development of test strategies, perform hands‑on integration and debugging, and help ensure reliable performance of Hivemind autonomy software and its integrated hardware systems.

You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to drive high‑quality validation outcomes and ensure system readiness for field operations. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical depth who thrives in hands‑on testing, enjoys solving complex integration challenges, and is eager to grow into a future technical leader.

What You’ll Do:
  • Execute system‑level integration and testing activities for Hivemind autonomy systems.
  • Contribute to the development of test plans, test methodologies, and validation strategies across simulation, HIL, VIL, and flight environments.
  • Develop and maintain test automation, tools, and infrastructure components in Python and C .
  • Perform hands‑on system debugging, data analysis, and root‑cause investigations across hardware and software interfaces.
  • Support flight test operations including pre‑flight configuration, system checks, and post‑flight data review.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, flight test, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Create and maintain clear test documentation including procedures, results, and findings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, reliability, and coverage.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members as appropriate and contribute to team growth and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of experience in system integration and testing for robotics, autonomy, or aerospace systems.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with hardware and software testing, including flight or field test support.
  • Strong proficiency in C and Python for automation, analysis and tool development.
  • Experience with SIL/HIL/VIL environments and simulation‑based validation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems involving hardware, software, and networking.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with unmanned autonomous aerial or ground vehicles.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or robotics industries.
  • Experience developing automated test frameworks or infrastructure.
  • Hands‑on background (e.g., FIRST Robotics, maker projects, or flight experience).
  • Active SECRET clearance preferred.

$114,266 – $171,400 a year
