In the role of Mechanical Design Coordinator, we’ll count on you to:

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
• Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
• Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices.
• Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis, and mechanical equipment selections.
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
• Supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians, coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines.
• Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
• Will obtain EIT during career progression if not already qualified.
• Experience in Healthcare, Science and Technology or Civic facilities.
• Knowledge of sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar, equipment selection software).
• Commitment to be an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.
