Process Control Programmer (HMI / PLC / SCADA)-Georgetown, Tx location
Control Panels USA is seeking an experienced Automation Programmer (HMI/PLC/SCADA) to join our growing team. The Automation Programmer will be responsible for completing all programming, configuration, and communication services using equipment and software from a variety of HMI, SCADA, and PLC manufacturers, along with various communication protocols for industries such as water, wastewater, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, process control, machine control, conveyor controls, etc.
This role is located in our Georgetown, Tx office.
Process Control Programmer responsibilities include:
- PLC configuration and programming from new installations to maintenance & improvement projects of existing systems. Familiarity with various platforms such as Allen‑Bradley, Schneider Electric, Siemens, GE PAC Systems, SCADAPack, etc.
- SCADA programming on platforms such as AVEVA/Wonderware InTouch, Trihedral VTSCADA, Rockwell Software FT View SE, Inductive Automation Ignition, Schneider Electric Clear
SCADA, GE iFix. - HMI programming for manufacturers such as Allen‑Bradley Panel View Plus, Maple Systems, Schneider Electric Magellis, AVG, and others.
- Perform factory acceptance testing with clients and engineers.
- Perform site commissioning services including field I/O verification and system communications.
- Ensure client expectations are met and maintain good relations with clients and vendors.
- Be familiar with and able to develop electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, communication drawings, loop drawings, and other applicable drawings.
- Basic understanding of process control networks over Ethernet TCP/IP, RS‑232, RS‑485, Ether
IP, DF1, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and typical spread spectrum radio configuration. - Create control narratives and function strategies for use in submittals and O&M manuals.
- Create support documentation for project completion and verification, including documented software applications, I/O lists, and test reports for O&M manuals.
- Experience with automation controller systems such as Allen Bradley (including Plant
PAX), Siemens, Schneider Electric (Modicon), and GE PLC systems. - Experience with HMI and SCADA systems such as AVEVA/Wonderware, Factory Talk View ME/SE, and Inductive Automation Ignition.
- Field experience performing panel checkout & loop checks.
- Troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning services.
- Project management experience on programming‑only scopes.
- Effective client communication skills.
- Willingness to travel 20%+ of the time.
The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, drive, sit, and stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and be willing to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
