Job Title

Transportation Planner 4‑Toll and Revenue

• Under light supervision, gathers, compiles and analyzes transportation demographic, economic, land use and/or environmental data.
• Create basic to highly complex modeling for existing and proposed transportation systems.
• Review existing models and recommend improvements.
• Prepare basic to highly complex studies of existing or proposed transportation systems, including new systems, upgrades, re‑routing, and reviews of existing systems.
• Create transportation surveys, exhibits, and other meeting materials to identify areas of public concern and facilitate public and stakeholder input.
• Prepare and design traffic count and safety studies.
• Review proposed transportation project sites for alignment with draft designs and plans.
• Review transportation plans for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Collaborate with engineers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation conceptual/schematic design issues.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
• Mentor and develop junior staff for future growth within the discipline and firm.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related discipline.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Solid knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by all transportation modes.
• Understanding of current transportation trends/issues, including relative costs and benefits.
• Solid knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
• Solid knowledge of the practical application of regional and community planning.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
