Job Title
Transportation Planner 4‑Toll and Revenue
Job Description- Under light supervision, gathers, compiles and analyzes transportation demographic, economic, land use and/or environmental data.
- Create basic to highly complex modeling for existing and proposed transportation systems.
- Review existing models and recommend improvements.
- Prepare basic to highly complex studies of existing or proposed transportation systems, including new systems, upgrades, re‑routing, and reviews of existing systems.
- Create transportation surveys, exhibits, and other meeting materials to identify areas of public concern and facilitate public and stakeholder input.
- Prepare and design traffic count and safety studies.
- Review proposed transportation project sites for alignment with draft designs and plans.
- Review transportation plans for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Collaborate with engineers to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation conceptual/schematic design issues.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Mentor and develop junior staff for future growth within the discipline and firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community or Regional Planning or related discipline.
- 5 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Solid knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by all transportation modes.
- Understanding of current transportation trends/issues, including relative costs and benefits.
- Solid knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
- Solid knowledge of the practical application of regional and community planning.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
