The Opportunity
- Design power distribution, lighting controls, grounding and lightning protection systems with respect to buildings and infrastructure projects
- Short circuit, over-current coordination, load and arc flash studies
- Lighting photometric calculations
- Assign circuitry for Power and Lighting devices
- Technical report writing
- Work on projects using Revit MEP
- Contribute to the development of reports and electrical calculations
- Work with people from other disciplines and/or vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects
- Attend meetings - listen, ask questions. Be involved in discussions with other disciplines and Architects to gain knowledge & experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or similar degree
- Demonstrated interest in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems as applied to building design
- Ability to thrive in fast paced environments with strong planning and organizational skills to manage shifting priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and accessibly, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated leadership potential and proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative, solve problems creatively, and collaborate effectively
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based collaboration
- Comfortable presenting ideas and technical concepts to colleagues and clients at all levels
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
- EIT/ FE certification
- Experience with Revit MEP, AGI 32, SKM Power Tools
- Coursework or experience in building systems design, electrical power systems design, control systems, electric machines, medium voltage design, and familiarity with relevant codes and standards
- Internship experience in a consulting firm, particularly with a focus on building electrical power system design
- Exposure to electrical testing practices
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability as evidenced by extracurricular activities or related projects
- Academic research, coursework, or other experience with alternative energy systems and emerging technologies to the construction industry
- Experience with automation or machine learning applications
- Evidence of teamwork and leadership such as professional accomplishment, honor society, or student organizations
