As a Forensic Expert – Accident Reconstructionist, you will provide forensic consulting services that require the application of technical knowledge and previous work experiences to help assess and determine the origin and cause of complex and unique problems for purposes of resolving claims and legal disputes for our clients. You will work both alone and as part of a team, along with a variety of engineering disciplines, to determine the root cause of a variety of incidents.
RESPONSIBILITIES& DUTIES
- Conduct field investigations.
- Execute triangulation, coordination, and total station field measuring to locate evidence and document scenes.
- Inspect sites, vehicles, and other evidence for forensic investigation.
- Report and collect evidence, including forensic photos and videos.
- Apply engineering principles per industry standards to investigation analysis.
- Utilize appropriate calculations, applications, and figures to ensure the proper procedures are applied.
- Produce written technical reports detailing and defending observations and conclusions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Provide expert-level consultation to our clients to assist in answering technical questions.
- Maintain technical and professional knowledge related to the engineer’s practice area(s) through continuing education, industry seminars, relevant publications, and professional organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering; master’s degree or higher is a plus.
- P.E. license or ability to obtain in Texas.
- Strong organizational skills and a results‑oriented attitude.
- Mathematically and technologically inclined with the ability to adapt quickly to new environments or scenarios.
- Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensure and certification.
- Ability to work remotely or while traveling to different job sites.
- Must be able to travel to different regions in and outside of Texas and maintain established insurance requirements and reliable transportation.
- Willingness and desire to work above and beyond the minimum performance and goal requirements.
