A mechanical contractor in the Dallas–Fort Worth market is seeking an Information and Quality Manager for BIM/VDC
. This role oversees BIM standards, information governance, model accuracy, Trimble layout workflows, and prefabrication data quality. The position manages Trimble Operators, Prefabrication Coordinators, and BIM Technicians, ensuring alignment from design through fabrication and field installation.
- Supervise and develop Trimble Operators and Prefab Coordinators; manage workloads and performance expectations.
- Maintain coordination between BIM, engineering, project management, prefabrication, and field teams.
- Implement and enforce BIM standards, templates, and execution plans.
- Ensure model accuracy, naming conventions, version control, and data integrity.
- Lead model coordination, clash detection, and QA/QC reviews.
- Manage collaboration platforms and common data environments (CDEs).
- Oversee Trimble layout processes and validate model-to-field accuracy.
- Ensure models are fabrication-ready; manage spools, shop packages, and prefab breakdowns.
- Monitor fabrication progress and support continuous improvement of model-to-shop workflows.
- Establish QA/QC procedures, checklists, reporting tools, and issue-tracking processes.
- Provide training on BIM tools, Trimble workflows, and company standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in BIM/VDC management or digital construction within an MEP environment.
- Strong understanding of Trimble total station workflows and field verification processes.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Trimble Connect.
- Experience managing direct reports and coordinating across office, prefab, and field operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and QA/QC skills.
- Knowledge of fabrication standards, modular assembly, and tolerances.
- Preferred: automation/scripting (Dynamo, plug-ins), ISO 19650, BIM-to-ERP integration, design-build or mechanical contracting experience.
