Transportation Research Board (TRB) Entry‑Level Positions – Locations across the US
Jacobs invites transportation engineers and planners to join our team in developing large‑scale infrastructure projects across the United States. These entry‑level roles provide early‑career professionals the opportunity to work on multimodal transportation systems in a collaborative, mentorship‑rich environment.
Base salary range
: $70,000 – $95,000 per year (hourly‑based, location dependent).
- Assist in the preparation of planning studies, alternative analyses, impact assessments and technical reports for roadway, bridge, transit, aviation and port projects.
- Conduct site investigations, perform engineering calculations, develop design drawings with CAD software, and contribute to environmental impact assessments.
- Support multi‑modal corridor planning, asset and fleet management, and transportation efficiency studies.
- Collaborate with Project Management and senior planners to deliver design and construction documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation/Urban Planning, or related fields.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
- Familiarity with CAD/Design software (AutoCAD, Micro Station, Open Roads, Geopak).
- Strong self‑motivation, problem‑solving, team orientation, excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (now or future).
- Previous internship or project experience in transportation planning or engineering (optional).
