Senior Subsea Engineer - Offshore Operations

Our client, a leading force in offshore energy exploration, is seeking an accomplished Senior Subsea Engineer to join their esteemed team in Welkom, Free State
. This position is central to the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea production systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in subsea hardware, pipelines, and structures, coupled with a strong project management capability. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and performance of our offshore assets, contributing to the successful execution of complex projects. The role blends essential on-site work with opportunities for remote engagement.

• Lead the design, engineering, and specification of subsea equipment, including Xmas trees, manifolds, and control systems.
• Oversee the planning and execution of subsea installation campaigns, working closely with installation contractors.
• Develop and manage subsea pipeline and umbilical design, routing, and trenching strategies.
• Conduct structural analysis and integrity assessments for subsea components and structures.
• Manage subsea development projects, including scope definition, cost estimation, scheduling, and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., API, DNV).
• Interface with multidisciplinary teams, including project management, operations, and external vendors.
• Provide technical support for ongoing offshore operations and troubleshoot subsea-related issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of subsea engineering practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in subsea engineering, with a focus on offshore field development.
• Proven experience with subsea hardware design, installation, and operations.
• Strong knowledge of subsea pipeline engineering, flow assurance, and structural analysis.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and software for subsea design and analysis.
• Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working within or supporting operations related to Welkom, Free State is considered an advantage.
• Ability to travel offshore as required.
