Position OverviewAs a Portfolio Manager II
, you will support our Middle Market Banking business development by identifying and calling prospects, coordinating calling efforts with bank team partners, and managing profitable client relationships. You will also assist the industry team with cross‑selling bank products, reviewing and structuring large complex transactions, negotiating credit terms, and preparing legal documentation.
- Support enrollment of prospective clients via national and regional outreach.
- Manage an existing portfolio of clients, reviewing financial statements, renewals, and compliance with credit standards.
- Coordinate with Credit, Loan Operations, and Executive Management to ensure smooth processing.
- Lead underwriting on loan presentations and drive portfolio growth.
- Participate in community and business functions to promote a positive bank image.
- Maintain knowledge of regulations such as BSA and OFAC.
- Bachelor’s degree related to finance or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in specialty or commercial banking.
- Related specialty banking or finance experience.
- MBA or relevant certification.
- 7+ years of expertise in specialty or commercial banking.
- Industry specific credit background.
- Moody’s Risk Analyst experience.
- Completed formal credit training program.
- Strong communication, writing, and sales skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong credit knowledge and ability to identify key relationships.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
- Well‑developed organizational skills and time‑management.
- Sound decision‑making and commitment to results.
- Office setting with traditional hours.
- Rapid pace for long periods of time (typically < 8 hours).
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
- Work overtime and additional hours as required.
- Travel estimated at 25% of the time.
