Job Summary

This position is a Team Lead for the Award Closeout Team. Person will oversee team and provide subject‑matter expertise for the team's tasks while creating change to get tasks done efficiently, accurately while provided excellent customer service to our internal and external customers. The Award Closeout team is responsible for timely closeout of awards and ensuring expenditure, payments and billing ultimately all reconcile.

If not, it is required to investigate variances and work across Post‑Award teams to remedy and provide solutions to these issues. Understanding of Uniform Guidance, People Soft and Research Administration is helpful. Ability to use higher level analytics; pivots, vlookups, xlookups, Power Queries, and Power BI will facilitate this position in being successful in this role as we move to more translational processes for this team.

Experience and Education Required
  • Education
    :
    Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Experience
    : 6 years’ experience in finance with demonstration in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis, plus analytical ability to understand complex financial activities of healthcare initiatives (or research initiatives depending on department needs).
Job Duties
  • Provides financial support for all areas of department.
  • Reviews and plans various financial projections within team. Identifies areas of financial risk presents findings, and makes recommendations to management.
  • Plans, leads, coordinates, and manages budgeting and forecasting activities. Evaluates, prioritizes, assigns and implements capital projects.
  • Manages, directs and plans evaluation of departments or team's financial performance. Develops and recommends actions to achieve financial objectives.
  • Provides strategic consultation and guidance to management on financial or compliance issues, evaluates business processes and creates recommendations for optimizing impact on business initiatives.
  • Performs financial analysis on various projects. Accesses and utilizes financial data from various data sources.
  • Develops and manages work plans to meet target dates and deliverables.
  • Completes complex projects as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
