The US Letters of Credit Operations Team Leader leads end‑to‑end operations for Documentary Trade, reports to the US SCIB GTB PPT, and drives the execution of Middle Office & Back Office for SBLC and Documentary LCs. The role supports business lines and clients through issuance and management of an LC portfolio.
Job Function DescriptionResponsible for day‑to‑day operations of the company’s business units, delivering superior service to clients by optimizing people, processes, and technology. Builds repeatable capabilities that support the highest standards of service and execution, analyzes business processes and operational standards, ensures compliance with company objectives and business needs, and monitors external developments.
Key Responsibilities- Efficiently and accurately process Standby Letters of Credit in line with UCP
600 or ISP
98 and the Bank Policy and Procedures. - Ensure process controls comply with SLA and bank policies.
- Liaise between Front Office, Back Office, Clients, and other stakeholders to timely process and report Trade and GTB products.
- Support daily Trade Finance operations efficiently.
- Examine documents (SBLC and Commercial LCs) and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor SBLCs with automatic extension clauses and evergreen LCs.
- Ensure LC deals meet internal and external compliance requirements (AML, Anti‑Boycott) and credit risk policies.
- Prepare and distribute LC documents efficiently.
- Execute LC drawdown requests in compliance with LC provisions.
- Maintain databases controlling and reporting exposures.
- Identify risks, report incidents, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
- Leadership skills.
- Spanish language skills a plus.
- Banking operations experience in Trade Finance and Working Capital products, particularly in Documentary Trade and SBLC.
- Strong knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, and international trade practices.
- Accounting knowledge related to deal booking and reconciliation.
- SWIFT knowledge (MT7xx messages) and Industry Trade Finance systems (e.g., Trade Innovation).
- Organized, detail‑oriented, control‑oriented mindset.
- Innovative mindset, continuous improvement in compliance processes.
- Strong quantitative skills; proficient in data management and executive reporting.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience: 3‑5 years.
Compensation and BenefitsBase Pay Range: $63,750.00 – $ USD.
