Chief Accounting Officer

We are working with a leading private investment firm that creates and manages investment funds within the oil and gas industry and are seeking a Vice President of Accounting to join their team in Dallas. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Office, the Vice President of Accounting will play a key leadership role in shaping financial strategy and supporting the continued growth of the company's oil and gas portfolio.

This is a senior, visible role that will lead a high performing team across all areas of accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of accounting, finance, tax and treasury operations for multiple entities

• Serve as the principal accounting officer and primary financial contact for the CEO, board and external partners

• Ensure timely, accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Lead the external audit process across all entities, managing simultaneous audits during busy season

• Oversee the transition to the company's new accounting software platform and ensure process continuity

• Drive continuous improvement in systems, controls and reporting efficiency

• Support investor relations and oversee fund level accounting and distribution process to investors

Candidate Profile

• 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with at least 10 years in oil and gas

• Expertise in revenue, JIB, LOE, CAPEX, DD&A and partnership accounting

• Proven experience managing audits, tax engagements, and multi-entity structures

• Strong treasury and cash management skills

• Experience leading or supporting a system conversion

• Excellent leadership, communication and board-facing presentation skills
