Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the CFO will be a key strategic partner, balancing vision with execution and guiding the company through its next phase of expansion. You'll lead all aspects of financial management - from forecasting and capital planning to systems innovation and operational alignment - while serving as a visible, hands-on leader across all business units.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a senior advisor to the President & executive team, influencing long-term strategy, growth initiatives, and acquisitions.
- Lead accounting, treasury, budgeting, reporting, and compliance across multiple divisions.
- Strengthen job-cost visibility, WIP reporting, and cash flow performance to improve profitability.
- Build scalable financial systems and controls to support rapid growth and future expansion.
- Drive M&A strategy, integration, and capital structure planning.
- Manage key relationships with banks, bonding companies, insurers, and external partners.
- Champion innovation through financial technology, data analytics, and real-time reporting.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team that reflects the company's collaborative, high-integrity culture.
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience; at least 5 years in a CFO or senior finance role.
- Strong background in construction, development, or related industries.
- Proven success scaling a company from $500MM-$1B+ through operational discipline and strategic foresight.
- Expertise in construction finance, including WIP, bonding, and project accounting.
- Experience with M&A, strategic planning, and capital markets.
- Exceptional communication skills - able to translate complex financials into actionable insight.
- Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) Iowa with consistent on-site presence.
We are extremely competitive, client-focused and realize that our value is in our ability to deliver the right solutions at the right time.
