OPPORTUNITYA well‑established private wealth management firm is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing Tax Department. This is a full‑time, in‑office position, open to offices in New York City, Nashville, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Grand Rapids, or Dallas
.
The Tax Department was launched in 2023 and has quickly grown to serve over 300 client households. The firm is committed to delivering an elite, high‑touch tax experience and intentionally maintains a lower‑than‑industry‑average volume of tax returns to ensure proactive and personalized client service.
The Tax Manager is expected to have strong tax technical skills with room for growth, a desire to work with high‑net‑worth individuals, and a client‑service mindset. This role supports existing clients only, with no business development or client acquisition responsibilities
, and reports directly to the Tax Director
.
- Provide tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to high‑net‑worth and Family Office clients
- Review and file a variety of tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, and 1120‑S, ensuring accuracy and timely filing
- Act as a signer on tax returns when deemed appropriate by the Tax Director
- Participate in client meetings to address tax‑related inquiries and provide strategic recommendations, with support from senior tax leadership as needed
- Collaborate with advisors and internal teams to ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
- Identify tax planning opportunities and assist in implementing strategies under senior guidance
- Conduct research on complex federal and state tax matters and prepare clear, well‑documented responses
- Provide limited mentoring and guidance to junior staff on tax engagements
- Continue developing technical tax expertise through exposure to complex tax matters
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm or RIA, serving as a Tax Senior Associate, Senior Accountant, or Tax Manager
- EA designation required

Active CPA or JD preferred - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of individual taxation, with exposure to S‑Corps, Trusts, Partnerships, and Non‑profits
- Detail‑oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills
- Experience with CCH Axcess, CCH Workflow, and Holistiplan preferred
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
