Position Summary

The Mortgage Insurance Manager is responsible for motivating Escrow team members to perform at their best; the administrative and technical direction of the Mortgage Insurance (MI) process; and functional effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the MI team. The Manager develops each team member’s knowledge‑base, research acumen, communication skills, and other abilities relevant to the specialist’s professional career and Loan Administration department strategy.

The Manager ensures all MI bills are paid timely, policies are cancelled in accordance with relevant guidelines, loans are boarded with accurate MI data, and rescinded policies are quickly identified, reported, and reinstated.

The Mortgage Insurance Manager reports to the Escrow & Special Loans VP and must develop strong working relationships with other departments, vendors, clients, and co‑workers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of Round Point’s Mortgage Insurance process
  • Design and implement functional reporting, department processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and/or investor guidelines
  • Write, update, and maintain policies and procedures to reflect the most up-to-date processes
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, career counseling, and succession planning
Qualifications

Required:

  • Mortgage Insurance experience, preferably including Government loans (FHA / VA / USDA)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work‑related experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a people management role
  • 5+ years of experience working in a mortgage environment, preferably Loan Servicing
  • Organized and disciplined, with a demonstrated ability to develop the same traits in others
  • Consistently meet deadlines
  • Effective communicator; ability to provide timely and constructive feedback
  • Experience with MS Office suite; experience designing/building things in Excel

Desired:

  • Experience tracking and leveraging data to identify opportunities and improve performance
  • Excellent written, presentation, and oral communication skills
  • Experience designing and building processes, businesses, tools, etc. with scarce resources
  • Experience working with MSP (BKFS)
