Job Overview

This position provides coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations resulting from military needs, including post‑deployment events or covering absent counselors. Primary duties include delivering a full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.

• Provide one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, or referrals to participants outside counseling sessions.
• Consult with commanders or staff and coordinate with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure program scope and needs are met.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes and workshops on topics such as arrival at first duty station, pre‑deployment, post‑deployment, and personal and career events.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes (web‑based, secure chat, video).
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen who speaks fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Adjudicated Tier‑2 security investigation.
• Pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Certification:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) (any one).
• Valid driver’s license (DL).
