Senior Sales and Use Tax Accountant, In Office

LHH is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing organization. This role will focus primarily on multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including taxability analysis, nexus determinations, filings, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong sales and use tax expertise, excellent analytical skills, and experience managing compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

• Manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including return preparation, filings, registrations, and payments.
• Maintain state-by-state tax matrices covering taxability, nexus, rates, and filing requirements.
• Research sales and use tax regulations and evaluate tax implications for products, services, and new business initiatives.
• Monitor economic nexus thresholds and changing state and local tax laws.
• Coordinate with external tax providers and respond to tax notices, audits, and jurisdictional inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales and use tax processes and compliance procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of tax experience with a strong focus on multi-state sales and use tax.
• Strong knowledge of sales tax nexus, taxability rules, exemptions, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance for software, SaaS, consulting, or professional services preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with tax compliance software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
