Chief Financial Officer - Commodities

Ember Grey is supporting the search for an experienced Chief Financial Officer for an established international commodities organisation with significant operations across the United States.

The business operates within a commercially focused environment, managing international supply chains, financial operations and trading activities.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished finance leader to take responsibility for the financial performance of the US business, working closely with senior management to support strategic growth, operational efficiency and long term profitability.

The successful candidate will combine strong financial leadership with commercial awareness and experience operating within a complex international business.

• Lead the financial strategy, planning and performance of the US business.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal financial controls.
• Manage treasury activities, banking relationships, liquidity and working capital requirements.
• Partner with senior commercial and operational stakeholders to support business performance and strategic decision making.
• Provide financial oversight across trading, procurement, distribution and operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal governance procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities and operational efficiencies.
• Support business expansion, investment decisions and wider strategic initiatives.
• Oversee financial risk management and ensure appropriate controls are maintained across commercial activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance function, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

• Extensive experience in senior financial leadership positions, ideally as a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent.
• Strong background within international trading, commodities, distribution, supply chain or industrial businesses.
• Experience working within commercially driven organisations with complex financial and operational structures.
• Demonstrable experience managing treasury, working capital, financial controls and reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of commercial finance, financial risk management and business performance optimisation.
• Experience partnering with senior executives and commercial stakeholders to drive financial and operational improvements.
• Strong knowledge of US accounting standards, financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Candidates must already be based in the United States.

This is a senior leadership position within an established international organisation, offering substantial responsibility and direct involvement in the strategic and commercial development of its US operations.

The role would suit a commercially minded financial executive with experience operating in international trading or similarly complex commercial environments.
