Responsibilities include supporting outreach to a broad set of institutional and strategic investors—such as pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, banks, insurance companies, and asset/wealth managers. The ideal candidate will have previous capital formation experience in private markets (venture capital or private equity) settings and familiarity with institutional investors allocating to alternative investments.

Locations: San Francisco, New York, Texas

Responsibilities
  • Support the sourcing of prospective LPs and assist in managing the capital formation/investor relations processes, driven through Fin’s CRM (i.e., ensure accuracy of responses and that all deadlines are met; update LP contact information, client activity and investment interests).
  • Assist in producing activity reports and tracking action items from our CRM.
  • Maintain outreach language across Fin’s fundraising activities.
  • Assist in administration of Fin’s virtual data rooms.
  • Assist in responding to ad-hoc information requests, including RFPs/DDQs during fundraising activities.
  • Conduct competitor and market research, with an emphasis on identifying LPs investing in/open to Fin Tech allocations.
  • Establish and manage workflows to meet all internal and external deadlines related to capital formation/investor relations, initiate innovative ideas and creative approaches to help increase efficiency and further the capital formation and broader goals of the firm.
  • Organize video and in-person meetings and roadshows.
  • Assist in preparing regular content for LPs, including marketing materials, models, and Fin’s quarterly Navigator webinars.
  • Work on LP events, including our annual in-person Navigator Day, bi-annual Navigator webinars, quarterly Compass updates and other events across each calendar year.
  • Identify industry conferences ideal for Fin’s participation and coordinate participation.
  • Coordinate and work with other areas of the firm effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Support the subscription closing process (i.e., ensure appropriate AML/KYC documentation is provided by LPs, ensure appropriate FATCA/CRS documentation is provided by LPs, as necessary).
Qualifications/Ideal Characteristics
  • Relevant experience for the Associate (3-5 years) and Analyst (2-3 years) roles, preferably within a private markets firm or investment bank, focusing on capital raising/formation for PE and VC asset classes.
  • You are passionate about the capital formation/investor relations function and developing long-term and deep relationships with LPs.
  • You are comfortable discussing private capital strategies and asset classes with institutional investors.
  • You are a self-starter, team player and have a proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively with a high degree of attention-to-detail in a dynamic and collaborative work environment under tight deadlines.
  • You are IT literate and highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and industry tech (Salesforce/Altvia, Pitchbook, etc.).
  • You are comfortable with extensive travel and working irregular hours to accommodate overseas investor prospects and LPs.
  • Undergraduate degree at minimum, masters degree and multi-lingual (Spanish, Arabic, other) capabilities a plus.
