Position

POSITION: PARAMEDIC – Special Operations Response Team, PRN

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of Medic One Medical Response Management, the Paramedic - Special Operations Response Team will perform duties associated with providing transport services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Medic One Medical Response clinical protocols and operational policies during deployment to a Theater of Operation (TOO).

Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, calmly and efficiently provide basic life support to patients at the scene, en route to the hospital, and in pre-hospital settings, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and Medic One standards
  • Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures
  • Rescue victims of accidents, sudden illness or entrapment using proper techniques
  • Communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions or arrange reception of patients
  • Maintain order at scenes, including crowd control and managing bystanders
  • Complete patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and other required documentation in a competent and timely fashion

The Paramedic must perform all job responsibilities in a manner that protects patient privacy:

  • Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the Company s privacy policies, procedures, and practices as required by federal and state law
  • Access protected health information only to the extent necessary to complete job duties and share only with those who have a need to know
  • Participate in Company privacy training and uphold Medic One s Privacy Policy

The Paramedic must possess and apply knowledge and skills to perform the duties of an Ambulance Operator, including:

  • Respond to instructions from a dispatcher, Task Force and/or Strike Team Leader and navigate specially equipped emergency vehicles to locations safely
  • Ensure vehicles are in good working condition, properly maintained and stocked with necessary equipment
  • Clean, organize and restock vehicles to a ready condition after each transport
  • Handle telephone communications professionally with regard to patient privacy
  • Monitor communication equipment to maintain contact with the dispatcher and leadership
  • Perform life-saving operations
