Whatdoes the Administrator Imaging Services position do?
Responsible for the coordination and administration of all radiological exams; ensures technical quality and timely reporting of results. Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety. Typically performs the duties of a technologist more than 20% of the time in order to maintain a high‑quality care environment. Supervises radiological services in accordance with clinic and governmental standards and within established budget guidelines.
Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Oversees diagnostic imaging services within budget guidelines in accordance with clinic and governmental standards.
- Develops departmental goals and objectives. Establishes and implements diagnostic imaging policies and procedures and recommends improvements as appropriate.
- Maintains quality of radiographs, procedures and services. Reviews quality of films.
- Selects and trains departmental staff. Provides guidance, instruction, assigns work and supervises daily operations. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions.
- Reviews departmental performance and ensures compliance with accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements.
- Performs radiological procedures utilizing multiple modalities including X‑Ray, Ultrasound and CT/MRI.
- Oversees daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance. Maintains and inspects equipment and materials. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility. Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor.
