Exercise Physiologist

On Duty Health is a mobile health and fitness assessment company specializing in Occupational Medicine. We provide on-location health and fitness assessments for firefighters, law enforcement, and corporate wellness events with a team of three healthcare professionals—including a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, an Ultrasound technician, and an Exercise Physiologist—to a job site in order to conduct the assessments and provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

$26.00/hr – $37.00/hr

The Exercise Physiologist will evaluate patients’ vitals, conduct pulmonary function testing, flexibility assessment, body composition, muscular strength/endurance testing, resting and stress EKG testing, educate patients on findings, and collaborate with the team to provide health and fitness recommendations for individual patient improvement.

• Education
  : B.S. required from an accredited university in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field.
• M.S. Preferred.
• Certifications (required or preferred):

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred.
• American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist (ACSM‑EP) – Preferred.
• American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM‑CPT) – Preferred.
• National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA‑CPT) – Preferred.
• National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) – Preferred.

• Self‑motivated and qualified candidates familiar with providing a professional and motivating experience with clients in a health and fitness setting.
• Experience in providing customer service essential to this position.
• Experience conducting various fitness evaluations recommended.
• Proficiency with pulmonary function testing (spirometry), 12‑lead EKG, treadmill stress testing, VO₂ Max testing, metabolic analysis with body composition, muscular strength & endurance evaluations, and flexibility evaluation.
• Current knowledge and industry standards of excellence in exercise testing and exercise prescription.

• Travel to multiple fire/police stations, city administration, and corporate buildings throughout Texas and occasionally California.
• Conduct the above mentioned tests with confidence and professionalism.
• Acknowledge the industry of the job site and engage/ interact with clients using customer service skills.
• Communicate professionally and efficiently with both co‑workers and clients.
• Travel expenses, including lodging, mileage and daily per diem for meals, are reimbursable.
• Ideal candidate:
  Extensive knowledge of exercise science, confidence in conducting tests, team player, vibrant/warm personality.
