Base pay range: $17.50/hr - $21.00/hr

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.
• Under supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy and review compliance with the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors promptly to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to the Walgreens policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, handle cash, and assist customers in the OTC aisle.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
• Process manual claims for third‑party program prescription services promptly and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Assist and support inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including collection and labeling of blood/urine samples and coordination with Walgreens health clinics.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community.
• Assist in maintaining the Pharmacy Department’s appearance and supplies.
• Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and complete special assignments as directed.

• Earning and maintaining PTCB certification through the designated training program or required state certification.
• Attending training, completing PPLs requested by Manager, and acquiring continuing education credits.
• Maintaining knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, staying up to date with latest news and developments.

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification (preferred).
