Job Title

Medical Technologist, 3rd Shift

Shift

(8:00 pm – 6:30 am)

Job Summary

Works under general supervision to provide technical skills for performance of basic to complex laboratory procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field. No experience required.
  • Medical Technologist Certification (MT). New graduates may be hired without the certification but must earn it within 180 days.
Job Duties
  • Accurately performs testing according to lab policies; recognizes and evaluates deviations; documents critical results.
  • Performs all quality control procedures and troubleshoots quality control issues.
  • Performs instrument startup and shutdown; documents maintenance and calibrations.
  • Ensures smooth workflow and meets turnaround time expectations.
  • Reports attendance for assigned shift.
  • Performs special projects such as evaluation of new reagents or procedures.
  • Achieves a minimum of 10 continuing education hours annually.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and serves on committees.
  • Provides orientation and instruction to students and lab personnel as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
