. Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We just re‑opened our newly renovated PGA Championship Golf Course, named #1 Best Golf Course Renovation in Avid Golfer Magazine. The club also holds a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff comprises professionals in Tennis, Golf and Culinary.

We are currently looking for regular part‑time employees to work in golf outside operations.

General

Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining the golf cart fleet and staging, parking and cleaning golf carts before and after play each day. Attendants will help deliver a first‑class golf experience by greeting members and their guests to ensure their experience is pleasurable. Additionally, Attendants will help with bag storage, maintenance of the practice areas, and resetting the practice amenities throughout the day.

Must be able to work during the week. We have full‑time and part‑time openings.

Essential Duties
  • Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time through the day.
  • Carry golf bags and other items up to 20‑30 pounds.
  • Display friendliness and helpfulness at all times to Club members and their guests.
  • Thoroughly clean and wash golf carts, and stage them for play.
  • Assist in managing the daily flow of traffic around the cart staging area and bag room: resetting the cart staging, checking carts, greeting players as they arrive or return to the Golf Shop, cleaning clubs, retrieving or putting golf bags away from storage, and general cleaning/upkeep around the facility.
  • Constantly re‑supply all practice areas and keep them looking presentable throughout the day.
  • Return and clean the golf carts after usage on the course, and charge the carts for the following day. Re‑fill sand bottles and replace.
  • Fold towels, and bring soiled towels to Laundry for cleaning. Monitor supply levels of towels throughout the department during the day.
  • Detail golf carts on a regular basis as directed.
  • After all carts and bags have been returned, clean the work environment and secure the golf cart storage area and bag storage facilities.
  • Return personal belongings lost on the course to Club members and guests.
  • Adhere to all Property and Department policies and procedures.
  • Observe all safety and security procedures. Use equipment and materials properly. Report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor.
  • Attends staff meetings when required.

Education/

Experience:

Less than high school education; or GED, some golf knowledge preferred.

Language

Skills:

May be required: to read a limited number or two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical

Skills:

May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment/Noise: Works in outside environment on a regular basis. Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least 16 years of age with valid driver license.

  • Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the employee is required to communicate with English speaking members or co‑workers, the manuals for equipment the employee may use are in English).
