Overall
Purpose:
Lead and supervise a team of Workday configuration experts responsible for the management and optimization of Workday HR functional modules, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of system enhancements and maintenance. This role will drive the evolution of Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) capabilities to align with business objectives, foster innovation, and maintain operational excellence.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Team Leadership & Development:
* Direct, mentor, and develop a team of Workday configurators specializing in Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, VNDLY, Talent Management, Security, Reporting, and PRISM. Familiarity & experience these modules is needed while Workday Extend & Workday Success Plans experience is desired.
* Oversee workload management, set clear priorities, and monitor progress to ensure timely and quality delivery of Workday configuration requests and projects. Integration experience is a plus, but not part of the job scope.
* Provide coaching, training, and professional development to ensure the team stays current with new Workday functionalities and best practices.
Workday Functional Oversight:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for functional Workday configuration, collaborating closely with Solution Architects, HR stakeholders, and IT & Payroll partners.
* Lead and participate in Workday functional design and solutioning discussions, leveraging deep knowledge of Workday's architecture and capabilities.
* Oversee the configuration, unit testing, and deployment of enhancements across modules, ensuring changes align with business needs and maintain system integrity.
Strategic
Collaboration:
* Works with HR, Payroll, and IT organizations to identify business issues, develop strategies, and set technical direction.
* Coordinate with Workday technology vendors, consultants, and internal teams to support projects & operations as well as evaluate new functionality as needed.
Project & Operational Leadership:
* Lead projects related to Workday enhancements & launches of new functionality or modules, including involvement in business case development, requirements definition, detailed planning, & resource allocation.
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the Workday configuration team, including administrative responsibilities, performance management, and resource planning.
* Influence decisions regarding hiring, disciplinary actions, promotions, and compensation for team members.
Job Contribution:
Oversees operational aspects of the department, focusing on the day-to-day management of related initiatives. This role is primarily concerned with the implementation and execution of strategies developed by higher management. Typically leads entry-level and career-level staff within the organization. Responsible for influencing decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.

Experience:
* Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science.
* 5+ years of related experience in HRIS, Workday configuration, or IT operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
* Proven expertise in configuring and supporting Workday HR modules:
Core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, VNDLY, Talent Management, Security, Reporting, and PRISM.
* Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
* Demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring, and developing technical teams.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
