Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead talent acquisition, employee engagement, and core HR operations for our team in Dallas, Texas. This role will shape programs that help attract skilled trades workers, strengthen retention, and support a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate brings strong HR administration experience, sound judgment, and the ability to balance day-to-day employee support with long-term workforce planning.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute recruiting initiatives aimed at attracting electricians with experience and other construction talent in a highly competitive market.
- Establish partnerships with trade schools, apprenticeship organizations, staffing firms, and other talent channels to build a steady staffing pipeline.
- Review candidate materials, conduct initial screening activities, and collaborate with project leadership to move applicants through the selection process efficiently.
- Oversee onboarding documentation, including employment eligibility verification, required identification records, policy acknowledgments, and pre-employment screening coordination.
- Lead orientation for new employees by covering workplace expectations, safety practices, and company policies to support a successful start.
- Maintain organized employee records, complete required onboarding reporting, and monitor attendance documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Create and improve programs focused on employee retention, recognition, bonuses, and incentives tied to measurable outcomes such as performance, safety, attendance, and referrals.
- Gather workforce feedback, assess turnover patterns, and recommend practical actions that improve engagement, morale, and long-term retention.
- Coordinate employee events and culture-building activities that reinforce teamwork, accountability, appreciation, and career growth.
- Support timekeeping and prevailing wage administration, including coordination processes related to contract labor and related recordkeeping needs. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in human resources, including recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations responsibilities.
- Bilingual Spanish required
- Background supporting HR functions in construction, skilled trades, or another fast-paced labor environment is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR administration processes, employee file management, and employment documentation requirements such as I-9 compliance.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and maintaining accurate personnel and attendance records.
- Ability to develop practical programs for employee engagement, retention, recognition, and performance-based incentives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, schools, and external staffing partners.
- Organized and detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities while handling sensitive information professionally.
