Database Administrator
The Senior Professional Database Administrator provides expert consulting in data architecture and management. This role ensures database performance, security, and reliability while leading complex database projects and guiding junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor database activity, performance, and resource usage.
Diagnose and resolve critical database issues.
Design, implement, and optimize complex data structures.
Develop load balancing processes to ensure high availability.
Maintain database security, apply patches, and monitor for threats.
Plan and execute DBMS upgrades and integrations.
Lead projects and mentor less experienced database staff.
Prepare recovery strategies and implement disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
6+ years of database design, maintenance, and performance tuning experience.
Strong knowledge of DBMS features, installation, and upgrades.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as required.
