Job Summary

The main responsibility of a Data Center Technician I is to support data center operations and apply data center support principles that help ensure continuous systems and facility uptime. This role keeps current with industry standards, growth, and changes in technology. It is a 24/7, 100% on‑campus position that requires flexibility and willingness to cover shifts of any hour with short notice.

Infrequent travel to remote facilities may be required. The position may involve work outside normal business hours, including weekends, with periodic after‑hour support and availability for pages 24/7. The work is primarily performed in a general office area.

• Monitors and responds to failures related to power, hardware, network, and facilities.
• Analyzes system events/alerts and diagnoses potential root causes.
• Utilizes elevated access and sound judgment during remediation processes.
• Responds to system hardware issues by applying diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing, and reimplementation.
• Carries out shipping/receiving duties to maintain accurate inventory control and asset tracking.
• Conducts issue tracking and responds to incidents in a timely manner.
• Multitasks to prioritize and complete incoming events with effective response time.
• Interacts with clients via written communication and phone, showcasing high‑quality customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma supplemented by successful completion of vocational training in information technology.
• One (1) year of general IT experience; data center experience is a plus.
• Preferred cabling, stacking, and racking experience.
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork orientation, and a fit within the group.
• May be required to submit to a federal background investigation.
