Appian Technical Lead - Hybrid to US Locations; Dallas

Our global Insurance client seeks an AVP, Tech Lead on a CONTRACT TO HIRE basis to serve as a senior technical leader, driving the design, development, and implementation of cutting‑edge technology solutions that support business objectives. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient systems while fostering collaboration across teams.

Strong Appian Experience :
Must have hands‑on experience with Appian.

Insurance Background :
Prior experience in the insurance industry, ideally building underwriting workflows.

Technical Leadership :
Ability to take a hands‑on role, provide architectural guidance, and proactively remove blockers for the development team.

This is a HYBRID position to be located ONSITE 3 days a week in any of the clients US offices - NYC, NJ, CT, Atlanta, Philly, Miami, Dallas Houston, Chicago or Dallas are all workable locations.

Candidate must be eligible for direct hire after the contract duration. No 3rd party candidates

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions to support business strategies.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and architecture principles.
• Act as a key advisor to senior management on technology trends, innovations, and opportunities to enhance business operations.
• Oversee and manage end‑to‑end delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of IT systems and applications.
• Drive the adoption of modern technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve team productivity and system efficiency.
• Mentor and develop technical talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of IT systems, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Manage relationships with third‑party vendors and technology partners to ensure the delivery of high‑quality solutions.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, or technology leadership roles.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex IT systems and architectures.
• Appian Platform Knowledge :
  Deep understanding of Appian components such as Process Designing, SAIL, Rules, Security, and Integration.
• Proficiency in Appian Designer, low‑code development, BPMN, and data modeling.
• Integration and Architecture :
  Understanding of integrations with REST, SOAP, and other systems; knowledge of Appian architecture and infrastructure.
• In‑depth knowledge of IT governance, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile and Dev Ops methodologies.
• Exceptional problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a significant advantage.
• Additional Preferred skills :
  Expertise in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) and frameworks (e.g., .NET, React, Angular).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Certification :
  Senior or Lead Developer certification is a plus.
