Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the financial services industry, is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, automate, and scale secure AWS network infrastructure in a hybrid enterprise environment. You’ll lead the development of network automation frameworks, ensure seamless connectivity between data center and cloud environments, and serve as a key technical mentor and subject matter expert for networking initiatives.

• Architect, implement, and scale secure AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPN, Load Balancing, Cloud WAN, Route 53, Route 53 Profiles, ACM, and PCA).
• Automate network infrastructure deployments using Terraform (primary) and other IaC tools such as AWS CDK.
• Lead cross-environment integrations between data centers and cloud environments.
• Define and enforce best practices for network segmentation, DNS management, and traffic routing.
• Manage DNS and IP addressing schemes using Amazon Route 53, including hybrid integration with on-premises networks.
• Develop and maintain network observability, monitoring, and incident response practices.
• Design and implement network security controls using AWS Security Groups, Network ACLs, and AWS WAF.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the evolution of internal cloud networking standards.
• Stay current on emerging AWS networking services and industry trends.

• 5+ years of experience in cloud or network engineering, with strong AWS expertise.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP, BGP, DNS, firewalls, routing).
• Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
• Experience with multi-account, multi-region AWS environments.
• Proven ability to operate within large enterprise environments and hybrid infrastructures.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex network and connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Cloud Watch, Datadog, or similar).
• Fluent in Python for scripting and automation.

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker networking.
• Hybrid cloud connectivity (data center + cloud).
• Exposure to security and compliance-focused environments.
• Experience with AWS Control Tower, Account Factory, or Service Catalog.
• Knowledge of Public and Private Certificate Authorities (CA).
