Job Summary

The Senior Staff Analyst, Information Security is a recognized expert and lead contributor within the organization, specializing in insider risk detection, mitigation, and intellectual property protection. This role focuses on developing and maturing the insider threat program, leveraging advanced telemetry, AI / ML tools, and cross-functional collaboration to meet organizational goals.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in information security, proven leadership skills, and the ability to influence at a senior level. They will design and implement innovative solutions to detect, mitigate, and prevent insider risks while aligning with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of insider threat detection frameworks, focusing on identity hijacking, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration detection.
  • Drive the achievement of organizational goals by enhancing insider risk detection and response capabilities.
Program Development and Maturity
  • Establish and operationalize an insider risk detection program with a balanced approach to alert handling, combining automation, manual analysis, and hybrid workflows.
  • Optimize detection algorithms and workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance process maturity and ensure alignment with business priorities.
Engineering and Technical Innovation
  • Develop advanced detection capabilities using UEBA, SIEM, and AI / ML technologies.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to integrate data from telemetry sources for comprehensive monitoring.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve detection models to keep pace with evolving threats.
Metrics and Reporting
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, including detection accuracy, false positive rates, and response times.
  • Use data insights to refine operational strategies and recommend improvements to leadership.
Team Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a mentor and coach for team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-organizational initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration between IT, HR, Legal, and other stakeholders in response to insider threat incidents.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the insider risk program, influencing decision-making at the senior leadership level.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or Doctorate preferred) in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in information security, with a recent focus on insider risk detection, UEBA, and AI / ML-driven solutions.
Competencies
  • Recognized expertise in insider threat detection tools (e.g., Netskope, Microsoft Defender, Proofpoint).
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to guide large-scale projects and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Deep knowledge of AI / ML integration for security applications, including detection algorithm optimization.
  • Ability to manage complex, high-impact projects and make decisions under ambiguity or conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
