Job SummaryThe Assistant Director of Digital Accessibility provides institution‑wide leadership to ensure accessibility is embedded across all digital environments. Working in partnership with academic, research, clinical, and administrative leaders, the role establishes strategy, oversees implementation, and promotes best practices that advance equitable access to digital resources for all members of the community.
Duties include:
- Program Leadership & Compliance Shape and guide the institution’s digital accessibility strategy and roadmap. Ensure alignment with federal and state accessibility standards and best practice. Establish policies, procedures, and governance frameworks that advance accessibility.
- Operations & Oversight Provide oversight for accessibility initiatives, assessments, and remediation across digital platforms. Work cross‑functionally to integrate accessibility into procurement, vendor management, and technology life cycles. Monitor institutional progress through reporting, metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Training & Campus Engagement Build upon established accessibility training programs to expand awareness and capability. Collaborate with leadership, Information Resources, and business stakeholders to sustain institution‑wide education and resources. Advise faculty, staff, researchers, and technology teams on accessibility practices and tools.
- Collaboration & Governance Partner with leaders across academic affairs, business affairs, health system affairs, institutional advancement, compliance, legal, and communications domains to support accessibility initiatives. Represent Information Resources on committees and governance groups related to accessibility. Stay current on emerging accessibility regulations, technologies, and trends, and share expertise across the institution.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare, education, information technology, or a related field. Master’s Degree in information technology, accessibility, higher education administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in digital accessibility, web development, instructional technology, information technology, development, or a related field. At least 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience is required. Experience in an academic medical center, research university, or healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with WCAG, Section 508, ADA requirements, accessibility testing tools, and assistive technologies is preferred.

Certifications:
Professional certifications such as CPACC, WAS, or CPWA from IAAP, preferred.
