Senior OpenShift Cloud Engineer

Pay Range: $57.00hr - $62.00hr Job Overview:
The candidate for this role as an Open Shift/Cloud Engineer will be accountable for engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership as it relates to the organization's Platform-as-a-Service offerings. The candidate will assist with application migrations to the organization's Platform-as-a-Service offerings and perform other related activities. Required

Skills and Experience:

Extensive experience working with Red Hat Open Shift Infrastructure design, deployment, and operational support.

Experience with Open Shift Container Platform (OCP) 4.6 through the latest stable versions. Extensive knowledge of Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures. Minimum 2+ years of experience working with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.

Experience with Java, JBoss, Nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures. Specific knowledge and experience with migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads. Demonstrated skill in at least one or more configuration management/scripting technologies, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Python. Specific knowledge and experience provisioning multi-node High Availability (HA) clusters, including monitoring, performance testing, and application deployment. Experienced with automated deployment tools.

Deep conceptual and applied understanding of Dev Ops concepts, tools, and practices. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, or comparable substitutes. Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multitasking environment where multiple projects require participation simultaneously. Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical issues. Working knowledge of networking topics such as protocols, firewalls, and load balancers.

Willingness to document processes, share knowledge, and train other members of the team. Working knowledge and adaptability to current technology standards. Preferred:

Experience with VMware technologies such as vCenter, vRA, and vRO, as well as experience running Open Shift on bare metal. Working knowledge of SSL certificate management.

Experience with Agile teams, tools, practices, and ceremonies (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.). Ability to keep abreast of relevant industry-leading standards and emerging technologies. Container and pod-level monitoring and logging experience using Dynatrace and QRadar. Experience working with IBM Cloud and/or AWS. Benefits:
