Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations, Data Engineering
Join a fast-growing company building a modern, AI-focused cloud platform from the ground up. They're in the middle of a $4B data center build with two more already planned, and their infrastructure supports large-scale scientific research, simulation, and AI/ML workloads.
This is a senior architecture role, owning the design of highly scalable, globally distributed storage systems for the platform. You'll research and prototype storage solutions, define data ingest, staging, and archiving strategies at petabyte scale, and recommend optimizations like I/O acceleration and caching. The role also includes working directly with clients to capture requirements and design tailored solutions.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience and hands-on expertise with high-performance storage systems such as VAST, Lustre, or Spectrum Scale, including deploying them within an HPC cluster. Experience with benchmarking tools like IOR, mdtest, or FIO is valuable, and exposure to NVMe over Fabrics, CXL, or persistent memory is a plus. Backgrounds from scientific computing, big tech, or large infrastructure companies are all relevant.
The role is onsite in Dallas. Sponsorship is not available. Compensation can be $,000 base plus additional bonus.
