We are partnering with a leading global technology consulting firm seeking an experienced Network Architect (Domain Lead) to lead enterprise network integrations associated with mergers and acquisitions.
This is a fully remote opportunity focused on network architecture, infrastructure migrations, and integration projects rather than ongoing network operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco SD-WAN, enterprise routing and switching, and leading complex network migrations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end network integrations for newly acquired companies, including discovery, architecture, migration planning, and execution.
- Assess existing network environments, including WAN connectivity, circuits, carriers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and IP addressing.
- Design and implement target network architectures utilizing Cisco SD-WAN.
- Develop migration strategies for transitioning legacy networking environments, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Meraki, onto standardized Cisco infrastructure.
- Design interim VPN connectivity, address overlapping IP spaces, and establish network segmentation and security standards.
- Plan and execute network cutovers across offices, remote locations, and other distributed sites while minimizing business disruption.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to support Azure connectivity and enterprise integrations.
- Leverage Python and Ansible for network automation, configuration, and deployment activities.
- Lead and coordinate onsite engineers and field technicians throughout migration projects.
- Develop technical documentation, migration plans, rollback procedures, and implementation runbooks.
- Support onsite cutovers, including occasional nights and weekends.
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, including enterprise network architecture and migration projects.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/IOS-XE and Cisco SD-WAN architecture and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, enterprise routing, and switching.
- Experience with Cisco ISE and 802.1X network access control.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking and cloud connectivity.
- Hands-on scripting and automation experience with Python and Ansible.
- Proven experience designing and executing large-scale network migrations and site cutovers.
- Experience coordinating field engineers, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to independently own network architecture, migration planning, risk management, and implementation.
- Must meet U.S. person eligibility requirements.
- Must be willing to travel for site migrations and cutovers.
- Flexibility to support night and weekend cutovers as needed.
- CCNP certification.
- Experience with AWS networking.
- Enterprise wireless design and site survey experience.
- Experience supporting distributed environments within construction, energy, utilities, or similar industries.
