Data Governance Consultant

Enterprise Data Governance | Erwin | Metadata & Data Architecture

I'm looking for an experienced Data Governance specialist to lead the implementation of an enterprise-wide governance capability for a large public-sector organisation. This is a hands‑on consulting engagement for someone who understands that data governance needs to work in practice, not just exist as a framework or set of policies.

You'll be responsible for bringing together the governance operating model, technical platform implementation and organisational adoption, leaving behind a capability the business can operate and maintain.

• Lead the implementation and configuration of Quest Erwin Data Intelligence
  , from platform setup through production deployment.
• Establish the enterprise data governance operating model, including ownership, stewardship, responsibilities and decision‑making processes.
• Configure business glossaries, data catalogues, metadata repositories and data lineage.
• Integrate the platform with enterprise systems using connectors, APIs and other integration methods.
• Establish metadata harvesting, data classification and ownership processes across prioritised business domains.
• Work with technical teams and business stakeholders to embed governance into existing processes.
• Develop the training, documentation and knowledge transfer needed to support long‑term adoption.

• Practical experience implementing data governance platforms, ideally Erwin Data Intelligence.
• Strong knowledge of metadata management, data catalogues, business glossaries and data lineage.
• Experience developing governance frameworks, stewardship models and data ownership structures.
• An understanding of enterprise data environments, integrations and technical metadata.
• The ability to work directly with stakeholders, translate business requirements into practical solutions and deliver a platform that works in production.

Experience with platforms such as Collibra, Informatica or Microsoft Purview may be relevant, particularly where you can demonstrate transferable implementation experience.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a defined enterprise implementation, combining technical delivery with the governance and stakeholder work needed to make it successful. The initial engagement is six months, with the possibility of a further six-month extension.
