Construction Property Underwriter (II or III) – South US locations (Addison, TX; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Maitland, FL). Hybrid work schedule available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new and renewal commercial construction property business in the US and internationally.
  • Administer and monitor underwriting rules, rating manual guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and national wholesalers to support business acquisition and retention.
  • Provide “Help Point” support for agents, brokers, and customers, ensuring timely responses.
  • Identify and pursue renewal and new account opportunities, conducting detailed opportunity assessments.
  • Assist in evaluating risk and ensuring profitability while adhering to time restraints for quotes.
Qualifications

Construction Property Underwriter (Level II)

  • Minimum 3 years of underwriting or market‑facing experience (or 6 years in claims/underwriting support). OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of line‑specific regulations and time restraints for quotes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Construction Property Underwriter (Level III)

  • Minimum 5 years of underwriting or market‑facing experience (or 10 years in claims/underwriting support). OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Commercial construction property underwriting experience with broker relationships in the South/Southeastern region.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Underwriting philosophy, techniques, and regulatory knowledge.
  • PC and related software skills.
Additional Information

Full‑time schedule. Remote working: hybrid. No sponsorship offered. Compensation: $98,500 – $165,000 (Level II) or $75,000 – $165,000 (Level I); short‑term incentive bonus eligibility 10%–15%.
