Claims Manager – Environmental Liability – Global P&C Insurance Carrier

About the Opportunity:

James Search Group is partnering with a global leader in the property & casualty (P&C) insurance sector to find an experienced Claims Manager specializing in environmental liability
. This is a high‑impact, hybrid opportunity available in multiple major markets, offering the chance to handle complex environmental claims, work across business lines, and partner directly with underwriting, reinsurance, and executive leadership.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $120,000 – $165,000
, plus bonus eligibility, comprehensive benefits, and 401(k).

• Directly manage a portfolio of primary and excess environmental liabilityμεσα claims
  , including general liability, contractors pollution liability (CPL), site pollution, and professional liability.
• Conduct coverage analysis, liability investigation, damage assessments and reserve evaluations
  .
• Lead negotiation and settlement strategies to drive cost‑effective claim resolutions.
• Serve as the internal expert for environmental claims, providing insights expirations to underwriters, reinsurers, and leadership.

to internal stakeholders.
• Cultivate strong cross‑functional relationships with underwriting and profit center leadership.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with policyholders, brokers, and stakeholders at all levels, including the C‑ .

• 10–15 years of experience handling or overseeing complex casualty and / or environmental liability claims
  .
• Expertise in hazardous waste site claims
  , risk transfer, and related litigation.
• Strong litigation management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proactive, self‑driven mindset with ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms like MS Teams.
• JD preferred
  ; engineering or corporate risk management background a plus.
