Position: Coordinator I (226 Days)

Responsibilities
  • Create marketing content in culturally relevant and consumer friendly Spanish
  • Translate and create marketing and social media grassroots resources for schools
  • Write appealing and persuasive content that impacts the local audience
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to develop branding for Spanish campaigns
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital team to create digital stories in culturally relevant Spanish
  • Compile a database of terminology and information to be used in translations, including technical terms
  • Perform general translation of letters, brochures, newsletters, and newspaper columns for various audiences and at different levels of literacy under tight deadlines
  • Assist the team as needed with the delivery of recorded messages aimed at limited or non‑English speaking parents and community, and interpret at Board of Education meetings, as needed
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Humanities /Language Studies, Education, Spanish, Journalism, or a related field preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a writer / editor, translator, or bilingual teacher; fluent in English / Spanish oral and written
  • Exceptional copy editing and proofreading skills in both languages
  • Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of this position; knowledge of district operations, policies, goals, and objectives preferred
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Communications and Marketing campaigns
  • Ability to deliver interpretations from English to Spanish
  • Self‑starter and able to work against deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work remotely, if needed
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Prior experience translating / interpreting in a school district environment, a plus
